Day 10
54
degrees w/10 mph winds @ 7:30 am
A sad
morning, but a good one!
I have
yet to see a sunrise…but that will change soon!
Michael
and Cyndy are busy preparing to go ashore, and making sure we have everything
we need. Going over instructions to make
sure we are prepared to be alone on beautiful Seguin Island.
Cyndy, Bandit and Larry headed to cove to see them off |
They are
already making plans of when to come back!
We saw
them off the island, said our goodbyes, sad to see them go.
Our new friends - Michael and Cyndy |
When
Ethan came out to get Michael and Cyndy, our guest, Janeene Stallings and her
two friends came out with him. They had
originally thought of staying the night with us, but didn’t want to take the
chance of getting stuck due to possible bad weather tomorrow. It was good to
see them and at least they got to see the island from close up.
Janeen Stallings and her two friends on the Guppy with Ethan |
I rowed
the dingy, which from hence forth shall be called: “Hinckley”. Not too bad of a job if I say so myself.
Michael row your boat ashore |
Found out
the town was flying their flags at half-mast, so we lowered our also.
We hung a
few of the lobstermen’s colored buoys along the sides of the tram. This isn’t anything new and it does add a
depth of nautical, plus if the lobstermen see their “colors”, they can always
come up and get them! The first of many
little projects for the summer.
We took
advantage of it being a Holiday and stayed close to the house….just in case
visitors came, but sadly none showed.
Flags lowered and the Seguin flag will be put away until the next
holiday.
No sunset
to speak of, it was so hazy, no color just gray. But “my Light” is shining
bright, which is how I will refer to the lighthouse light! Guess that’s ok, since I call Seguin “my
Island”.
Our first
night…..alone, miss my new friends, they introduced us to some new wonderful
food, to some card and board games. Be
safe my friends you made the beginning of our time out here so helpful!
My first time to prepare our lunch for just the two of us |
