64
degrees w/8 mph winds
Day 30
Thunder
storms last night, I love a good thunder and lightning night. Seeing the lightning flash across the
windows…wow! Rain was hitting hard
against the house and the winds were whipping around. Figured I’d have to move benches around this
morning, but everything was in its place.
The sun shining bright and the temp is perfect! Boats are everywhere for the ones we can see,
we can hear a few that aren’t visible right now, they are below us.
Loving the view |
So we
thought we were going to have a wonderful nights sleep because we love the
storms, but for some reason neither of us to fall asleep and then when we did
we both dreamed some wild dreams. Maybe
it was the milkshakes we had yesterday!?!
Plus I
wasn’t feeling well last night…told Larry I was guessing I was having “labor”
pains…..Today I became a mother….34 yrs ago.
We welcomed our precious baby boy, Kurt, into our lives. He has been a true joy to us! A quiet, giving, handsome, always thinking
out of the box, caring, strong in character and strength and a true friend to
others. He has grown into a wonderful
husband and father and has given us two precious grandbabies. We are so PROUD of him.

Breakfast
was later than usual so I’m calling it Brunch.
Larry had let me sleep in since I didn’t get sleep last night or the
night before. Eggs, sausage links,
hashbrowns and English muffins. We
talked about buying our eggs from a farm we saw yesterday near Thomas Point
Beach, the next time we go ashore.
Bandit
went out this morning and refuses to come in.
He is soaking in the sun soaking in the rays.
Well I’ve
got to get next door and see what kind of inventory my WW’s brought yesterday.
(Thank you guys!)
Our first
overnight guest will be here tomorrow night so I want to make sure everything
is just right.
Three
young men who were sailing their boat from Georgetown to West Bath stopped
by. They all lived in West Bath and we
had several questions about what was there, was it a part of Bath, etc… They have visited Seguin many times in their
young lives and said they would be back.
Inventory
in the Gift shop complete, now I’ve got to enter it in my computer. Larry’s down putting the mower back together
with the belt the WW brought out yesterday.
Bandit, well he’s busy soaking in the rays and greeting our guest.
Historical
Facts and My History…
Well I’ve
got to correct a few things….Momma’s reading these and it is her memories that
I’m writing from. She doesn’t believe
there was a well here then, because, when the cisterns were getting low, they
would have to call the CG. The CG would
then bring a boat carrying water to the side of the island and then they would
run a line to the island and fill the cisterns. My computer auto corrected this
word to citrines-which is incorrect. Sorry!
More trails |
Was sure
hoping the new belt on the mower would work.
He’s taken it apart and tried different things. Going to have to take someone with a little
more machine smarts he said. Since we
have guest coming tomorrow, I spruced up the guest quarters and did a little
more rearranging in the gift shop…Larry found me another board to make a shelf
out of.
Dinner…maybe
not tonight…too tired.
The
sunset is beautiful and the breeze is just right to spend a few moments outside
just soaking in all Gods beauty!
