51 degrees w/ 5 mph winds

Sun is shining bright this morning.  The air is so cold, the wind comes off the sea and its cold!

Breakfast of bacon and eggs and English muffins!

Several sail boats out today
Piddled around most of the day.  No really big projects to speak of.  Mowed and some weed eating the trails.

No lunch…neither of us were hungry.

More mowing and piddling…documenting inventory, cleaning, etc…

It was a quiet afternoon till we spotted a visitor, Moby.  He had come from Boothbay Harbor and was suppose to meet some friends.  The waters were a little rough and he was suppose to meet those friends in our cove.  Apparently they back out, so he was going to continue on tomorrow to Portland, ME.  He visited our museum and gift shop, leaving a donation….Thanks!  Larry gave him the tours of the tower as well as the other things to see here at the top.  He went on to walk a couple of the trails, then back to his boat.  He told us that he has sailed to Key West, FL and wants to sail on up into Canada, thus being able to claim having sailed the entire East Coast of the United States….wow!
Capt Moby and his boat, safe harbor in our cove

OK, now we were getting hungry….left overs are calling our names…time to clean out the fridge!

Historical Facts
The name Seguin is believed to come from the Native American word sutquin, which meant, the place where the sea vomits.
Seguin is located approximately two and a half miles from the mouth of the Kennebec River and is considered to be one of the foggiest locations in the world.
In 1907, the fog signal sounded for 2,734 hours, nearly one third of the year.
Last night the moon was full
it was reflecting across the ocean
we tried to capture it, but taking a photo in the dark
didn't come out very well

My History
Dad was stationed out at sea on a lightship until my birth, which he was able to come home for.  He then went back out to sea for another six month.  After that they stationed him at Pond Island, ME…so he came and got me and momma, Jan 1960.  This would be our “first” home together together.

My room was nearest the lighthouse, on the back side of the house, close to the fog horn.  Their room was towards the front of the house.  We celebrated my First Birthday on Pond Island!  I plan to celebrate my 56th Birthday there also!!  We were the last family to live on Pond Island.
