Day 34
Today was
the day we go ashore. I let Larry go it
alone! He’s a big boy and didn’t need my
help. Taking paperwork for our sales and
inventory list to office, picking up mail, breakfast, laundry, hardware store
and then groceries. I still wasn’t
feeling the best so I slept in and feel so much better already. He has a different view of this…he just said
I demanded he go alone…what…anyway he went alone!
WW x4
came out and worked on the bell stand, some molding around my kitchen roof,
sanding on the door, sanding on the “wooden” rain gutters.
I never thought of wooden gutters…it makes
since, and they are architecturally interesting with their curves and gutters.

It is
absolutely beautiful today. The temp is
perfect, the sun shining, the breeze and the waves and the birds…wow!
Several
visitors came today and I gave my first Tower tour. Usually Larry does this, but I had him busy
in town.
I
continue to learn about the islands history with each tour I give. Sold some t shirts and received many
donations! One group said they were
going to join the Friends of Seguin….Yeah and Thanks!
I worked
a little outside since the last three days were “stay indoors days”. I worked on my garden…finally…got my
tomatoes, spinach, green beans, lettuce, okra, carrots, cucumbers and yellow
squash. I had already planted my peppers
in the pots on the porch. Hopefully some
of it will grow and we can eat a little before we leave. I was a little late getting them into the
ground. Tomorrow I will be going down to
the cove and collecting seaweed at low tide.
I was told this will moisten the ground as well as give the earth
nutrients. I thought the salt water
would have killed them….learn something new daily!
Ethan picked
up my WW about 3:30, then headed back to Fort Popham to pick up a group and
Larry. Larry called and they are
bringing a new mower up the hill (with Ethans help)… God is good!
The group
of about 12 wonderful senior citizens…I’m a senior citizen now too…anyway this
group of people where so interested in everything they saw.
They took lots of pictures, enjoyed Bandit,
ate dinner on our picnic table, toured our museum, tower and gift shop…donating
and buying items. They even enlightened
me on some nearby islands and some history of our light. Fresnel was the inventor…I say his name like
a Texan and it is a French name and should be pronounced differently…so I’m
going to work on that.
Group of kids having fun, wanting to see the sunset |
Ethan was going to be giving them a wonderful boat ride back towards Bath and as they went they were going to see more of the sunset.
The Friends of Seguin gift shop..minus a few items sold today |
We had a
meal of stir fried vegetables and pulled pork while watching the movie: Gods
Not Dead! It was a great show and I
highly recommend it. And that all will
know what I believe….God is Not Dead!
