Day 36

Expecting a group of visitors that Ethan is bringing today and our overnight guest tonight.

Breakfast of blueberry pancakes and bacon and then off to work and ready everything.  Hung a few pictures in museum that I wasn’t sure where they went…Ken helped me locate the place when he was out here on Wed.

The tram -  the path from the cove to the lighthouse runs underneath
The visitors with three young boys, momma was home with the new baby boy.  They arrived and the two wooden helicopters and a kite that we had in our gift shop was just the thing to make their day.  They said they would be back out in August.

Deb and Shawn arrived and brought with them a gift for the island…a propane grill!  I gave them a tour of what we had done: kitchen shelves, spice rack, etc….  They seemed very pleased with how everything looked.  They began to settle in with the supplies they had brought to the island, then went out to enjoy the grounds and hike a trail.

Later a young man and his golden retriever came up for a visit.  He was moored in the cove and said he would be back up for the museum tour tomorrow.  His father served here on Seguin in 1973.  I invited him back to go up the tower for the sunset.  He did come and really enjoyed the view.  I told him we must be related…Coast Guard babies!
He will be back and we are going to see if we have his dads name up on the list of Coast Guard Keepers plaque.

I had to make Larry stop working and come eat lunch…dinner…grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and a salad….we didn’t stop today for lunch and then it was 8pm before we realized it.  We’ve got a wedding tomorrow and he wants everything to look its best.

Sorry I haven’t given any History lately…no excuses!
Another beautiful ending to a wonderful day
