Day 51
Independence
Day, Declaration of Independence in 1776, it is the 185th day of the
year (not in leap year) and 180 days remaining until the end of the year, the
Earth is at its farthest from the sun.
It was cool and hazy this morning when we
woke. Today is a day to just be lazy, a
day of sitting around and enjoying family and sharing the island.
Breakfast…Breakfast Burritos!
Ferns |
A different fern |
Ethan didn’t have any groups wanting to come
out, but we did have a few personal boat loads come to see us. Later we looked out an a gentleman was
standing out on one of the large rocks out front taking photos. I called out to him telling him I was sorry I
had not known he was here. He started apologizing
that he didn’t know anyone would be here and hadn’t put his hearing aids
on. He came to the house and I gave him
a tour and he did just fine hearing me.
He was very excited about being able to go to the tower. He was also intrigued by the history of the
island. He wanted to purchase a t-shirt,
but since he hadn’t thought anyone was here he hadn’t brought money. He’s going to go online and purchase it. He will be staying in the cove for the night.

playing with the drift wood we’ve collected.
