70 degrees w/ o mph winds
Day 95
Summer temps are here now!
Fog horn went off several different times last
night. The first five or six blast are
loud, then it goes back to the original sound which isn’t very loud. Going to call the CG and update them.
Its hazy again this morning, the sun is so
bright…this makes it difficult to see anything without sunglasses on. Not many boats on the water as of 8:30 this
morning.

Lunch…left over chicken pasta.
Beautiful day, lots of visitors! Had a family from Austin, Texas come up…they
were visiting family here in Maine. A
few independent boaters stopped and came up to visit. Around 5 pm a family came up and he said this
was the first lighthouse he had ever been in…Me too!
We love our visitors, and we consider the
greeting and tours our number one objective.
The only problem with trying to other “jobs” on the island is that we
are limited what we can do on a daily basis.
Just about the time we start something, we stop to welcome and give
tours…again, love our visitors…all that to say…we are still working on the
kitchen cabinet…last coat of varnish.
This was going to be my project, but Larry couldn’t stand it and went to
work on it. He was finishing the last
top coat while I went to give the last family the tour of the lighthouse. With today’s heat it dried and is now back in
the kitchen…Looks fabulous.
I screamed like a girl today…was taking photo’s
outside and a snake slithered across my foot.
I’ve seen a couple, but this was my first “contact” with one.
Beautiful sunset with the crescent moon visible.
Dinner….Egg sandwiches
