Day 82

Happy Birthday United States Coast Guard…..225 yrs old.

Woke to the fog horn, clock was blinking so we had lost power sometime last night.  The fog is thin, we can see past where the lobstermen go, but no further.  Around  9 it started sprinkling, but only for about 10 minutes….then we heard a weird noise….I thought Larry was doing something with a empty barrel or something outside and he thought I was rolling something around upstairs….then there was a CRACK….all we can figure is that it was thunder.  Both of us for a moment thought it could have been a boat running aground on the rocks.  Nothing like we have ever heard.  We checked the tower and the light is on.  The fog horn continues!

Foggy
Breakfast….I cooked…I know it’s rare, and I like it that way…anyway we had Breakfast Burritos: Sausage, eggs, cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla and then placed back into a pan to grill on both sides!

Thank goodness my laptop has a battery, because the electricity just went out again…9:14 am.  Wondering if it’s something out here or if those folks back in Phippsburg are having this happen to them also.  It is not big deal for “us” to be without power…this happens weekly back home.  There was a streak of lightning and then another clap of thunder.  If this keeps up, Ethan will not be coming to see us today!

I text Ethan around 10:45 to see if he was coming…his response “nope”.  So the only visitors today will be those who are in our cove for safety and others who are out and about and decide to come.
Beautiful

We took advantage of this and decided to enjoy a few trails…all by ourselves!  When we went to the Cove Trail, we couldn’t help but trim as we went, but then we got to the end and began to search for sea glass….I found a RED….so excited!!  Larry stayed in one area about 3 foot by 3 foot and found a handful.  Later I went looking for drift wood and he took the camera and went out further on the rocks.  Once I looked out and he and Bandit were out a good distance, Larry was laying on his side…I think he was trying to get the waves “spraying” up as they hit the rocks.  He was and I can’t wait to share with you.  Called my daughter-in-law Amy and told her I had found a perfect piece of drift wood for a boat…Kaleb, our grandson’s room is nautical and I think she wants to make him a boat from what was collected from off of Seguin.
Our Treasure of Sea Glass and shells

The weather turned out beautiful.  Around 2 we started seeing boats out on the water, thought a couple were coming our way.  We think one boat was chasing a lobsterman…maybe to get some lobster?

Time to start rounding everything that needs to go ashore tomorrow.  The flag that I talked about, that had shredded the end and got caught on the flag pole…well I’m taking it to the office so they can find someone like a scout group that can dispose of it PROPERLY.   Containers that gift shop supplies came in.  Trash and our own containers for food.   Driftwood we want to take home as well as a handful of rocks.

The weather changed again and we heard a few claps of thunder.  We went out to check and found a very odd cloud configuration.  We could see it raining at both ends and it was moving very fast and would be over us soon.  We ducked inside the house, but it never rained and later when we went to see how it looked in front, everything looked normal.  There were only those few boats out around 2, but later there were no boats, the water looked still, but I guess they knew it wasn’t safe to be out.

Sunset was brilliant.  Cookies for my WW tomorrow, Ethan has already confirmed our 7am departure!
Trayce and Ted here we come!
