63 degrees w/ 3 mph winds
Day 92
I’ve tried not to think of leaving Seguin, but I
know it is just around the corner. This
has been such a great chapter in my life!
Watched the Meter Shower last night, saw
several, but went to bed and probably missed the main show. Every time there is a “sky” show, wither it
be the moon, etc… we see several…I’m going to guess about 15 to 20 boats of
some kind “Parked” out on the horizon just SE of us, looks like a party out
there with all the lights from each boat.
I went shopping in the gift shop for some birthday gifts for me!!!! |
We are expecting overnight guest today, was told
by someone yesterday that was visiting that it was her friend and four other
young ladies.
There was a little boy who was playing with the
sign at the tram that says, “Unsafe, Do not Enter”….Bandit started barking and
ran down to the boy who stopped touching the sign…the parents looked back and
said, “I guess he was guarding the tram and telling our son not to be
there”…..this really did seem like what he was doing.
Larry’s right knee is really starting to bother
him. He twisted it the other day and it’s
been hurting, but he’s put a brave face on daily. Letting it rest a little and
we are going to get him into our Dr back home as soon as we return.
LOTS of visitors today…I will never get tired of
hearing folks come out on the catwalk and hear….WOW….in any language it’s still
a fabulous view. Several guest had their
furry friends with them and I think Bandit found his girlfriend…Rosy….they ran
and chased each other and had a great time!
One couple joined F.O.S.I.L….YEAH!
Sweet couple, told us about lots of great places to visit when we leave here |
3:30 A group of five kids ran up, asked if they
could see the light house….yes, they went up and ran back to their boat where
mom and dad were waiting. The wind has
picked up to 14 mph, temp is up to 69…sorry Texas, loving this Maine weather!!
More visitors just enjoying the views |
I’ve started “cleaning” up my stuff, anticipating
leaving and don’t want to wait till the last moment to gather what’s important
and trash junk paperwork I thought I needed.
It was 6 pm and I got to calling around to see
about our overnight guest that were suppose to be coming out. Couldn’t find anyone that knew anything. Figured that something must have happened to
cause them to cancel. After about thirty
minutes or so we heard girls giggling.
There they were five young woman, wet and exhausted looking, but
laughing and happy to be up the hill.
They had a bumpy ride from somewhere around the South Port area….not
really sure where. They had gotten
soaked from the waves, etc… We did our
introductions and I showed them their quarters and explained a few things…compost
toilets, extra blankets, etc… It has
gotten much colder…the temp gauge says 66 degrees w/ 10 mph winds, but it feels
more like 50 degrees w/ 20 mph winds. Larry
has started some Chicken Taco soup for dinner, using our grilled vegetables
from last nights dinner…..the pot is full.
7:45 ish….These ladies are out and it’s getting dark, they are sitting
around the picnic table having a blast snacking. They said they were going to grill….we aren’t
sure they will be able to do this in the dark…..we invited them in to have some
hot Chicken Taco soup, grated cheese, sour cream, and crushed corn chips….we
had a blast, they brought a delicious salad, wine and bread….one of them had
made a Homemade Blueberry Pie….OMG it was fabulous. Come to find out these ladies all new Holly
who had booked the room, but they didn’t all know each other until today! After dinner we went outside to see my little
nightlight. They showed me satellites…I
didn’t know you could see them. We also
saw some shooting stars or meteors. They
went around to their side of the duplex and then I heard them screaming….snake!
Looking "through" our door.....through the other doorway..out to the other side |
A good day and a wonderful evening!
