Day 62

This was our normal go ashore day…plus it was the day I go pick up my momma, aunt and two other momma’s.  Only had a couple of WW come on the island: Ken and Cyndy.  Larry had an eye issue that had to be checked out so we had an appt with a Dr Mark Marotto in Bruswick.  He said it was already getting better and gave him some drops. We finished doing our regular things….laundry, office, groceries, etc....I got Larry back to Popham to catch a ride back with Ethan to the island, along with all the supplies (I hope they are all up the hill and put away when I get there later).

Three of my grandbabies getting ready to leave
The girls had flown to Boston from DFW, then caught the bus to Portland.  They had been up since 3:30 am Texas time!  They were exhausted and hungry!
There go by babies...sad!

We headed to Brunswick where we got a couple of rooms at a Motel, then went to find something to eat….not too many places are open after 7 around here.  I wanted a family type restaurant…the lady that ran the desk at the motel suggested a place that was still open.  We went to Ebenezer’s Brew Pub…we closed them down, they will never be the same, the guy said to me as we left, “you’ve got your hands full”!  No chicken fried steak, no fried okra, no pecan pie…momma’s headed home!  No not really, but that’s what it was like last night. The food we had was good, but the laughter was great….we had the others in the Pub talking with us and carrying on with us.  Momma and Mary tried to drink coffee out of square cup….they dribbled a little and figured to go to the corner.

Navy guys worked on weed eatting an area thats a little difficult to do!
Boat house next to our beach that the Navy guys worked on replacing some wood

Exhausted we headed back to the motel where everyone has their own bed…they have been traveling like they are handicapped because of being deaf, blind and “older”.  Now I have them walking up a flight of 20 steps to get to their room.  They even had to carry their own luggage!! I told them there would be no partying, but I don’t know.
